Progr. Grundig Movitalk 118E

  • Hello.
And sorry for not writing in German.
Es tut mir leid, dass ich nicht auf Deutsch geschrieben habe. Ich bin Schwede.

I found this forum while looking for help with programming/mods for Plettac Movitalk MT118.

I have a couple of these radios for 160 Mhz, which I would like to use for HAM-radio in 145 Mhz frequencies.
The problem is, that they are today programmerd with german taxi software and I can't by any means get it to talk with my software in my computer.
In the computer i tried two different softwares (1MBIT - MT118BCF.406 & 2MBIT MT118BCF.506). None of them seems to work..

What is the difference between these two software? How do I know which one to use?
Am I supposed to be able to program this radio with any of this softwares or do I need another firmware in the radio to do this?

Thanks in advance for your support..

  • Hello Mike,

I had the same problem that you describe with my MT118E radios. With help from a friend I solved it and the radios are now working on 2m amateur band. I have a full codeplug for 2m.

Please send me pictures of your radio and i will see what I can do for you.

To program the radio you need a 486 PC and you must start the software in real DOS.

    Cheers,

    John

  • Hi guyes,

I have there 4 pcs of Grundig MT118/60. I need to program them. Are you using front or back port? Which pins are you using and how are you counting them?

    Best regards,

    Petr
